Craig Lehmann (Class of 1963) is the executive dean of the University of Stony Brook’s Health Sciences Center and oversees the professional schools of Social Welfare, Dentistry, Nursing, and Health Technology and Management. Dr. Lehmann overcame polio as a child and his story of resilience in the face of health challenges and poverty is inspiring. He travels throughout the world lecturing on the use of e-health technology to respond to the socio-economic and health care concerns of aging populations.

Paul Breschard (Class of 1967) returned to Floyd after college and taught here for 34 years.  Mr. Breschard was considered one of the most effective and most popular teachers on the WFSD faculty throughout his entire career because of his care for his students, engaging style and his unique sense of humor. Many of his former students credit their success in school and their careers to his influence as their teacher. He still resides in Mastic Beach where he continues to contribute as a civic leader and activist trying to improve the quality of life in our community.

Bill Konstant (Class of 1970) has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to ensuring the survival of endangered species and their habitats. He graduated from Cornell University and is considered one of the foremost authorities on primates in the world. Currently the Director of Conservation and Science of the Houston Zoo, he has served as Executive Director of Wildlife Preservation Trust International and Assistant Director of the Primate Program with the World Wildlife Fund. His work on preserving the golden frogs of Panama will be the focus of his appearance on Animal Planet in the fall.

Garett Leskowitz (Class of 1984) graduated from MIT and earned his PhD in chemical physics at CalTech. He is a well-published researcher and Professor of Chemistry at the University of California. Dr. Leskowitz’ research on observing nuclear magnetic resonance for microscopic samples has assisted NASA’s planetary exploration program and the detection of planetary life and the presence of water.

Frank Coraci (Class of 1984) graduated from NYU and has become a successful film director.  He has directed the movies; Click, Waterboy, Wedding Singer, and Around the World in 80 Days.  Mr. Coraci also makes cameo appearances as an actor in his films. He currently has 2 film projects in the works which are expected to be released within the next 2 years.

John Thaler (Class of 1993) John Thaler is the Founder and Portfolio Manager of JAT Capital Management, a long/short equity hedge fund based in New York City. Mr. Thaler is a William Floyd High School graduate from the class of 1993. After graduating from William Floyd, he attended the University of Chicago where he earned a BA in Economics. Upon graduating from college, Mr. Thaler embarked on a career in finance, starting in the Investment Banking division of Merrill Lynch in New York City. Mr. Thaler left Merrill Lynch to become an Associate in the Boston office of Spectrum Equity Investors, a Telecom, Media and Technology-focused private equity firm. After two and ½ years in Boston, Mr. Thaler returned to the New York area to become a pre-launch member of the team at Shumway Capital Partners, a long/short equity hedge fund based in Greenwich, CT. Mr. Thaler left Shumway Capital after five years to launch JAT Capital Management, which he continues to run today.
